This fellowship was established in honour of the late Nancy Crawshaw. Funding from the trust will support salary costs, allowing an individual to undertake a 12-month quality improvement project that will positively impact the delivery of clinical care for patients in Wales.
The fellowship focuses on development and supports applicants to deliver projects that will:
- improve rural or underserved population care models
- reduce inequalities in outcomes and access
- strengthen sustainable workforce and service models
- enhance ambulatory and virtual care pathways.
The maximum award will be up to 拢70,000 for a 12-month mid-IMT salary, which will be paid to the host institution.
The successful applicant will also be entitled to an additional 拢3,000 for travelling expenses and conference fees, for a maximum of one year.

This award is closed and expected to reopen in summer 2027.
Eligibility
- Applications are open to resident doctors up to and including ST6, or at least one year pre-CCT, at the commencement of the fellowship
- Applicants must be subscribing members of the 麻豆区
- Applicants need to be hosted by a Welsh institution but the funding allows for collaboration with non-Welsh institutions
- An application would be eligible if the quality improvement project is related to medicine and/or looks at strongly linking both primary and secondary care
- Resident doctors should be working in one of the 麻豆区 recognised specialties as listed on the 麻豆区 website here.
