The Royal College of Physicians is a professional body aiming to improve the quality of patient care by continually raising medical standards. We are not able to provide a patient referral service nor can we recommend consultants to patients. We would advise patients to consult their general practitioner for referral to a specialist. If appropriate, GPs should be able to arrange appointments for a second opinion either by another GP or a hospital doctor.

The Â鶹Çø no longer hosts the Faculty of Physician Associates (31 December 2024). Physician associates (PAs) must now register with the General Medical Council (GMC), their statutory regulatory body.
